The Badge Works

Jewellery Quarter

The Badge Works is at the heart of the creative Jewellery Quarter with its designer heritage. Just minutes walk from the city centre and Brindley Place where you will find vibrant bars, restaurants, shops and canals. An Art Deco factory built in the 1930s, The Badge Works was home to Reeves Badges for over 30 years. They made badges for everyone from Aston Martin to Chelsea FC. The badge makers have gone, but the history is still here. Design is at the centre of The Badge Works. Liv Developments worked with Sjölander da Cruz Architects to combine the best of the old part of the building – original high ceilings, radiators, exposed brickwork, large windows and steel beams – with the best of the new. The houses are accessed from the new courtyard which keeps the industrial feel of the building with its crane track and steel beams. Its edges are softened with landscaping next to the entrance to each house and behind the 12 secure car parking spaces. We have created high specification houses and a penthouse space with full height glazing, quality kitchens, bathrooms and extra generous balconies for private outdoor space.

With the number of tower cranes being counted, rising across the City centre, Birmingham is certainly looking like a City changing shape. The relocation of new staff inwards also continues apace, filling the bigger accounting banking & legal firms with new professionals and those already here are putting down more roots ,with the owner occupy market demand stiffening for well-located lofts and apartments.
